Guidelines

Cart Placement:

1.       6 ft Clearance on sides of cart (ex: Mailboxes, Trees, Cars)

2.      Place the handles and wheels toward house

3.      Put your cart out curbside the night before your service day

4.      All boxes must be dry

5.      Large boxes and items must be cut down to a size that will fit into the cart.

 

All Trash must be bagged.

 

Extra trash must be bagged 2 feet behind your cart. Not Boxed

 

-Acceptable Co-Mingled Recycling Items Must Fit into the Cart:

Glass (Clear, Green, and Brown), Tin or Aluminum cans, Cardboard, Boxboard (Shoe boxes, Cereal boxes), Paper, Magazines, Junk Mail, Plastic bottles and Milk Jugs. Moving boxes should be taken to the convenience center.

 

-NOT for Recycling:

No Plastic Bags of any kind in Recycling

Shrink wrap, shredded paper, pizza boxes, paper plates, napkins, Styrofoam packing or peanuts, toys, frozen food trays, electronics, plate glass, coffee mugs, mirrors, light bulbs, etc.  All food containers must be washed out or it’s trash.


-Pender County Solid Waste will not allow paint, lead acid batteries, antifreeze, medical waste, tires, hazardous waste, used oil, used oil filters, ridged plastic bottles, aluminum cans, propane tanks, pressurized tanks, yard debris, appliances, furniture, bikes, construction, demolition debris, concrete, rocks, or dirt in your trash. NC State law prohibits, Wood Pallets, Aluminum Cans and Plastic Bottles from all landfills.

 

-Due to operating cost – We must have payment for your service length in advance. Renewal Invoices not paid before the service renewal date will be automatically suspended. In order to resume a suspended service, a $10.00 reconnection fee will need to be paid. Carts damaged due to regular wear and tear will be replaced free of charge. Lost or stolen carts will incur a fee of $65.00.
